Signing in with Google

Contributing requires Google sign-in, provided by Firebase Authentication (a Google service). When you sign in, we receive your Google account's name, email address, profile photo and a unique account ID. We use them to keep you signed in, to link your submissions to your account, and to prevent abuse. We do not get your Google password.

What you contribute

Submissions are stored in Cloud Firestore (a Google Cloud database), together with your account ID and the time you sent them:

• Reviews: your rating, your written review, how long you have owned the car, and whether you chose to post anonymously.
• Prices: the ex-showroom price you paid, the purchase month, home charger details and any terms you enter.
• Dealer deals: the dealer's name and city, prices, discounts, freebies and notes.
• Corrections: the detail you are adding, its value, your note and any source link.

Before a review, price or deal is saved, it is checked automatically to catch spam, abuse and impossible values. This check can send the text you wrote to Google's Gemini models through Firebase AI Logic. An admin may also review any submission.

Approved reviews, prices and deals are shown publicly on the vehicle's page, including the dealer name for a deal. We do not show your name, email address or photo next to them.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, which vehicles are viewed or added to compare, and whether contribution forms are started and sent. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects information such as pages viewed, the referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not send it your name or email address.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works without them.

Your browser also stores the list of vehicles you are comparing (in local storage) and, if you sign in, your Firebase sign-in session. Both stay on your device.

Who processes your data

The site runs on Google Firebase and Google Cloud (hosting, sign-in, database, moderation) and uses Google Analytics. Google processes data on our behalf under its own terms, and it may be processed outside India. Like most websites, our hosting keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. We do not sell your personal data or share it with manufacturers or dealers.

How long we keep it

We keep your contributions for as long as the site runs or until you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account data and contributions. Email video4mani@gmail.com from the address you sign in with. We will reply within 30 days. This includes your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For any privacy concern or grievance, contact the same address.

Children

EVersus is meant for adults buying a car. Please do not sign in or contribute if you are under 18.

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date above. See also our terms of use.
